Next time you're driving on the I-15 through Temecula, take a glance to the west. Beyond that ridge, known as “the Hill” by Temeculans, is a lush valley and a community named De Luz. “Hills, rugged with beautiful ancient oaks and winding country roads, create panoramic vistas throughout,” says Marty Wright Buoye of De Luz Real Estate. “It's a place that reminds some of us of the sun-drenched charm of Tuscany, with its temperate climate heated by the day, cooled by ocean breezes at night.”

The approximately 18,000-acre community, which is at an elevation that is 1,200 feet higher than Temecula, is made up of about 600 homes nestled in the avocado groves. You’ll find gentleman ranches, farms, and gated estates. There are five homeowner associations, and the bare minimum lot size is five acres, with 10, 20, and even 40+ acre parcels also available. De Luz is flanked on the north and the south by natural reserves, which offer a wide variety of activities. Home prices start at about $900,000. Five-acre parcels begin at $400,000 and avocado groves begin at about $550,000 to $1,200,000.
De Luz also is conveniently located. “I live in the center of De Luz and I can get from my driveway to the I-15 in eight minutes and to Fallbrook in 12 minutes,” says Delsindico, who also works in De Luz and exclusively sells De Luz real estate.
